Hewitt stars in the television series “The Ghost Whisperer,” and has reportedly started dating actor/director John Asher, according to recent reports by People magazine. Several sources confirmed the rumors to People.
“They are dating,” said a source that was close to the couple. “They’ve been spending a lot of time together and are having fun. He showers her with attention and is helping her move on from her breakup with Jamie Kennedy.” Kennedy is a comedian who is most known for playing a wannabe on “Malibu’s Most Wanted.” “Helping someone move on” is never a good way to start a new relationship, but sources close to the couple have made it sound as if the couple gets along splendidly and are genuinely interested in one another. Hewitt and her long time boyfriend Jamie Kennedy broke up in March, and had been publicly dating for over a year. John Asher is the ex-husband of Jenny McCarthy. McCarthy and Asher were married for nearly six years, from 1999 through 2005. They have one son together, named Evan, who is now eight years old. Representatives from the couple have not commented on the recent rumors that the two are dating.
Hewitt and Asher met earlier this year on the set of “Ghost Whisperer.” Asher was appearing as a guest on the television show and the two more than likely ran into each other while he was filming, although sources have not released how the two met, or even when they first started dating. McCarthy, the ex-wife of Asher, also recently broke up with Jim Carrey after a five year relationship. The two were never married.
